2008 14U Blaze Black Team

The Alameda Blaze Black 14U softball team wrapped up their summer tournament season on August 23rd and 24th with their third consecutive championship win! Overall, the Blaze went 21-11-2 on the season, highlighted by a 13-1-1 record for the month of August. The Blaze picked up their first tournament win August 9-10th in Benicia, where a thrilling championship game ended in a 1-0 victory over the tournament host Benicia Outlaws, resulting in a 5-0 record on the weekend. Not letting up, the Blaze entered the USSSA Fall State Qualifier in Hayward the following weekend and repeated their 5-0 performance and first place finish, earning them a spot in the USSSA World Series in July 2009. In the final tournament of the season, the Blaze entered the Vallejo Summer’s End tournament and took home their 3rd championship of the month, taking first in the tournament with a 3-1-1 record.
