Sponsorships are still coming in. Brief discussion on travel agency website fundraiser. Board not interested. Looking more into other fundraising options, cookie dough, Tupperware, Robeks, Jamba Juice. Asking $200 for sponsorships for Blaze teams. Gwen will send letters to potential new sponsors not current rec. league sponsors soon.
Picture Day:
Picture Day is Sunday, April 6, 2008. Everything is taken care of. No issues.
Snack Bar:
Dottie made another Costco run for more candy. We will have burritos this Saturday. We will have burritos when we have most fields being used most of the day. Sharon will take a look at the schedule and assure field 4 is being used as late as possible.
Season status to date:
Dani reports all is good with all coaches. Umpires are needed from every team still. Each team needs to provide at least one umpire. Phil will be sending an e-mail to the coaches with more information on umpiring and getting them to start signing up. The last day to use the pitching machine will be April 26th. If coaches both agree, they can still use the pitching machine after that date but otherwise we are encouraging “kid” pitch. Ken will send an e-mail to Piedmont to clarify that information with them. 5013C Update: Ken spoke with Sean and we should receive and e-mail within a few days with the cost.
Communications:
Board decided it should be the “home” team that submits the game highlights unless we play “away” then still submit. Tom will be checking fields and reporting to Sharon who will post on website for rain out information. Dani will send e-mails to coaches regarding website weather information being posted by 8:00 a.m. on game days. If there is no new, games are on. Website: We have had 1,900 hits on our website!
Fields:
Thank you to Phil and Tom for getting our new shed. We need one construction day to put in shelving and ventilation. Brief discussion on setting up a bin with “gently used” equipment and having a drop off spot at the snack bar. Ken will set up the bin and once it is in place, Dani will send an e-mail to all coaches regarding the program. Tom made some fields available to Little League with the understanding we have first rights. Tom will double check with coaches before giving fields away. Clinics: Possible coaches pitching clinic to be held April 20th. from 11:00 to 12:00 and then a general skills clinic for the 6U’s and 8U’s from 12:00 to 1:30. Dani will e-mail all coaches for a commitment for the clinic before she sends an announcement out on Sportability. Dani will also send out an e-mail via Sportability announcing only four more advanced skills clinics left – not to late to join.
Interleague:
Discuss next month interleague with the 12U’s and 14U’s. Check “Open House” and Little League playoff dates.
