2008 Blaze

As the summer tournament season comes to close, AGSA would like to congratulate all of the 2008 Blaze players on great seasons. Check out articles and photos for the 14U Blaze Black, 14U Blaze Red, and 10U Blaze on the team homepages!

Season Highlights:

The 14U Blaze Black earned three consecutive first place finishes in August! The Blaze battled it out for 1st in Benicia on August 9th and 10th, and then followed it up with a 1st place finish in Hayward on the 16th and 17th. In their final tournament of the season, the Blaze captured their final title of the season at the Vallejo Summers End tournament on the 23rd and 24th. The team earned a 13-1-1 record for the month of August!

The 10U Blaze had a turn around season from last year, earning a 17-10-1 record on the season and participating in two championship games. The Blaze fought hard and came away with second place finishes in both the San Anselmo and Pleasanton tournaments!

Fun Ball 2008

AGSA has scheduled our annual Fun Ball sessions for October 2008! Fun Ball sessions are for new and returning softball players to have a chance to learn and brush up on their basic softball skills. Fun Ball is free to all 2008 registered players, and only $10 for all four sessions for new players. Players may attend one session or all four!

Fun Ball sessions will be held on the following dates and locations:
October 5th, 19th, and 26th - Krusi Park (Otis and Mound Street)
October 12th - Bay Port Park (Next to Ruby Bridges School)

All sessions will be at the following times:
6U and 8U players (5 - 8 year olds): 1pm - 2:30pm
10U and 12U players (9 - 12 year olds): 3pm - 5pm

Registration forms will be available at checkin for all new players (also available for download here). ALL players, new and returning, will have to have a medical release form filled out at their first session. The form can be downloaded here, or you can come to Fun Ball with your childs' doctor's contact information to fill one out in person. AGSA 2009 Registration

Registration for Spring 2009 will open on October 5th. Registration will be available in person at Fun Ball sessions, as well as online starting October 6th. Registration will be open until January 15th. Check back for links to the online registration process in October!

Dottie Stolze Winners!

The 2008 Dottie Stolze Winners were announced at the Closing Ceremonies on June 7th. Congratulations to all the winners for being chosen by their coaches and teammates as the player that demonstrated the best teamwork, friendship, and sportsmanship.
