Save the date: FALL FUN BALL – AGSA and our local high school varsity softball coaches (also former AGSA coaches!) are hosting the annual Fall Fun Ball clinics. Maureen Layag (EHS) and Keegan Andolsek (AHS) will lead the clinics along with help from players on their teams:
When: Saturday, October 6 and Saturday, October 13 from 1-3pm
Where: Krusi Field #3
Who: Fun Ball is open to all 2018 AGSA registered players. We also open up the clinics to new players who have never played softball – this provides an opportunity to try it out before the spring – spread the word!
Please arrive 15 minutes early to register and warm up. Fun Ball is free for 2018 AGSA players and $10 for new players.
Congratulations to our 12U Blaze team for closing out the summer season in style, with a first place finish in the Watsonville Strawberry Jam! The team battled hard all season. Awesome defense, clutch hitting and great pitching made this team one of the toughest in the Bay Area. Way to wrap up the season in style!
Congratulations to our 8U Red (Coach Hayward) Blaze team for placing 2nd in a very close 1-0 contest in the Gold Bracket Championship game this past weekend at the Pleasanton Summer Classic Tournament. Way to go girls!
At the end of every season, each team designates a winner of the "Dottie Stolze Award" for the player who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, and friendship. The award is named for the late Alameda softball legend who possessed all these characteristics in abundance.
Congratulations to the all our teams and to our 2018 champions!
